Twister

July 27th, 2011

Have you tried the Twister?

Oh my gosh!  It is so much fun....

You can use 10" squares of fabric or 5".  I used 35 - 10" squares.  You sew them all together and you add the border.  Yes, you will have what looks like a finished quilt.

Now, for the scary part...you cut it all apart using the Twister Tool.  Then, of course, you sew the new squares back together to form a new quilt.  I was a little worried when it came to this step.  I had to lay it out on my cutting table and think about it for awhile.  But once I dove in, it was fun to see how it was going to come together.

You have a piece that is left over from every square you cut.  This piece is approximately 4 1/2" square.  I am now in the process of making a table runner from these left over squares and the Lil' Twister.  So much fun!!

If you have done this, send me pictures of your quilt.  I would love to see the different fabric combinations.  I think it would look great in any combination.
